Love this! We are also (mostly) vegan and have considered ditching the k-cup for something better. Just haven’t forked out the money for the pour over supplies. Afraid my addiction will reach new (financial) heights 😅
I have a 3pm cutoff so I can sleep better, but oh boy! Gloomy winter days these past few weeks tested my self control LOL I loved what you said about enjoying the shared experience during dates with wife, definitely a good practice to continue - with or without coffee.
That’s a good rule. I know what you mean about these winter days. I made the mistake the other day of making myself a cup in the afternoon and I could not get to sleep later that night.
I'm a dirty leaf water over dirty bean water guy. I can live and be effective without it, but why? I enjoy my liter of tea in the morning! Usually a Persian Blend brewed in one of those cast iron Japanese tea pots and then that perfectly fits into my half-liter stone beer stein. It works.)
I've got plenty enough other habits to reframe/restart/dump, but zero interest in messing with my tea/caffeine intake.
My wife and I tried reducing down to one cup of coffee a day during January. There was the initial tiredness for a few days but after that it felt like something was missing in my life.
The time spend lovingly making coffee for my partner throughout the day was replaced with nothing. Emptiness. We tried switching to tea but are now back on afternoon coffees again.

You should do it. It’s not expensive at all and you’ll have higher quality coffee.
Not helping my pocket book Marcel… 🤣. If you love coffee, have you read/listened to Caffeine by Michael Pollan? So good
No, but I will now. Thanks for the recommendation!

Appreciate your comment, Mae!

That’s fair, Bryant. My wife also much prefers the dirty leaf water and has many different tea pots and cups.
Every morning sadly. IV drip dependent at the moment.
It’s all good. I don’t think it’s anything to be sad about. I’ve brought coffee back into my morning routine.

Some things just aren't worth giving up.
Good post, I enjoy coffee but certainly should reduce my coffee intake.
